Every year on 16 June, readers around the world celebrate Bloomsday to remember the life and work of James Joyce, one of Irelandโs most influential writers. Inspired by Leopold Bloom, the protagonist of his modernist novel Ulysses, Bloomsday is steeped in the spirit of modernism and the beauty of everyday life, expressed in language full of depth.To celebrate Bloomsday, the Embassy of Ireland in Thailand, together with our partners, would like to invite you to discover the charm of Irish literature at a special event, โBloomsday & Beyond: Celebrating Ireland, the Island of Writersโ, which will be held in the heart of Bangkok. Join us for a conversation on Irish literature from the past to the present, from the great Irish writer Oscar Wilde to the heartwarming poetry of W.B. Yeats to the contemporary perspectives of Sally Rooney, who captures the world in a witty way.
