Our history

The History of St. Patrick’s Society Bangkok

The St. Patrick’s Society is one of the oldest social communities in Bangkok. It’s mission is to promote the cultural & social values of the Irish people. Founded in 1962, the society holds regular events for people from Ireland, those with Irish heritage and those interested in Irish culture.

We are celebrating St. Patrick’s Society’s 62nd anniversary serving the Irish community in Bangkok. Our mission and primary function is to promote the social and cultural interests of the Irish community in Thailand. With over 250 active members and a constantly increasing Irish diaspora in the region, we are growing from strength to strength with every passing year. For some insight into one
of our founding members (Sally) story, the Big Chili magazine covers it well in
their December/November 2024 issue. Click here for more information.

Our signature annual event is the Emerald Ball, it is the premier Irish fixture on the Thai Social calendar, have a look out for this epic charity gala, everyone is welcome.
